A wheel chair
for 500.000 plastic bottle caps
By instinct, kids are born to be very curious having
strong will to learn. This motivates them to acquire and absorb
information from their surroundings.
Thus the school community works together as one to develop the students’
skills reflecting the IB learner profile. For that, 8th grade students
visited the KGIIB class and took the initiative in explaining the
concept of “Recycling” and its consequences for the sake of living in a
healthy environment. Consequently, KGIIB students participated in the
3Rs process that stands for (reducing , reusing and recycling ) as they
acted responsibly toward the environment by being extremely interested
in sorting the unneeded materials such as (papers , nylon bags ,
aluminum foil sheets … ) in the specified boxes , as they also brought
some of these materials to be reused .
Moreover, the kids showed a high degree of humanity when they reacted
positively and courageously toward the charitable deed which was
included in the campaign. It was buying a wheel chair for disabled kids,
and that’s for 500.000 plastic bottle caps. Thus learners showed
pleasure during collecting the caps of achieving such deed.
Furthermore, this instruction (recycling ) by all its simplicity in
discussion to suit the preschools’ ability of understanding , developed
and established the sense of appreciation to nature and human’s
activities .
